 Ma is all at once a group of women who gather to support and nourish one another, a performance as ritual production which explores feminine nature through Neo-Modern Mythica, a web of creative connection near or far as we know life often takes us to many places...and with time I have come to agree with the reflections I have received that Ma is also an exploratory model for women's empowerment within a new style of socio-cultural movement; a beautiful framework from which women can use to gather and create together. 

 

Cocreation is one of the most important aspects~each woman can feel open to add her special talents and visions to the overall framework. It is always fascinating to see how the co-creative process continues to evolve, how we continue to learn how to best support one another in our creative expressions. The creative expressions include storytelling through music, dance, cirque arts, temple arts, poetry, philosophy and more. The women involved share a deep respect for earth honoring lifestyles and self actualization, and find joy in sharing a style of folk storytelling that is artistically inspired by ancient and modern performance styles.

Within my time sharing versions of Ma in other countries, I have become inspired that this can be a model that can be shared freely, to unite and inspire women to be muses for one another~ a supportive women's empowerment communion blending ancient and modern flavors that explore the different facets of being a woman...facets such as archetypes, elements of nature, freeing oneself through rewilding, sensual and passionate exploration, so much more...

In the midst of the deep blue pacific, on Hawai'i, this neo-modern style of co-creative connection would be born in a new texture on the island of Kauai.

Kauai would bloom an experience that has immeasurably expanded what I knew of Women’s Empowerment and artistic expression. Inspired by all the wonderful sisterhood I had been experiencing and longing to find an outlet for the various arts I had been pursuing; music, dance, cirque arts, temple arts, writing, philosophy... I would endlessy daydream of how I could connect in an original and honoring manner to ideas of Ethnology & Ecopsychology, to the principles and practices of mythology within our psychologies.

 

Some of my ideas came from various small imaginings I had pictured over the years, some were inspired by different arts and mythologies I had learned that had moved me, some were fresh ideas that were an image of how to interweave all these things. I had been making so much music and wanted to explore more...Enter the amazing community of women who would take to these ideas and add their own beautiful styles.. and we would find we had birthed something truly moving. Now the movement has begun to be explored in this style internationally, I am excited by what can become

  I have been so fortunate to join with so many fantastic women I respect in exploring how to draw together as we tell together artistic stories of feminine nature; what gives us passion, breaks our hearts, and gives us the strength to continue creating.
